CTAA’s Certification and Training Programs, some of which are in-person, and some online, are available at a low cost. These include Certified Community Transit Manager (CCTM), Passenger Service and Safety (PASS) Certification, Certified Safety and Security Officer (CSSO), Certified Community Transit Supervisor (CCTS), Professional Dispatching and Scheduling (PDS), Vehicle Maintenance Management and Inspection (VMMI), and Certified Transit Program Administrator (CTPA). 

Easter Seals Project ACTION (ESPA) runs a comprehensive program of webinars online courses, and in-person trainings related to passengers with disabilities, ADA paratransit, and mobility management. 

Federal Transit Administration (FTA) hosts webcasts in response to new or updated legislation. FTA also hosts in-person trainings and provides some online training resources. 

National Center for Mobility Management provides free webinars and online courses around funding and delivery of mobility management services. NCMM e-Learning offerings include Creating Innovative Transportation Solutions and Understanding the Complete Trip.

National Aging and Disability Transportation Center (NADTC) training and webinars designed to help communities create accessible transportation for older adults, people with disabilities, and caregivers.

National Safety Council provides low-cost courses on topics including defensive driving and first aid

National Transit Institute (NTI) provides free webinars and low-cost in-person trainings on a variety of transit-related subjects. 

North American Transportation Management Institute (NATMI) holds in-person and virtual trainings on safety and compliance topics.

Small Urban and Rural Center on Mobility (SURCOM) hosts online and in-person training on a variety of transportation-related subjects.

Transportation Research Board (TRB) hosts webinars about many aspects of transportation. 

U.S. DOT's Transportation Safety Institute is a learning management system with transportation safety and security training modules 

Scholarships are often available through state RTAP programs for registering and traveling to trainings.

The National RTAP Directory of Trainers contains links to organizations that provide rural and tribal transit training, and a searchable database of individual trainers by name, keyword and state.

An alternative to attending webinars, in-person trainings, and conferences is to use a training module to train yourself or your staff. National RTAP offers free, interactive, online training via our eLearning platform on a variety of subjects, from emergency procedures to vehicle procurement to scheduling and dispatching. Our training modules can also be found in the National RTAP Resource Library, and can be ordered for free from National RTAP.  Some training sessions are designed with an instructor/learner component, and others are standalone courses for group or individual training.
