Training and Conferences

Training is one of the most important, and often mandated, activities for transit drivers and managers alike. Between webinars, customizable training materials, and free or low-cost training opportunities, there are many available ways to enhance a training program.

Attending conferences is also one of the best ways to be active and involved in the transportation field. Conferences provide a host of professional networking events, trainings for managerial and tactical skills and are places to meet peers and find out about new industry initiatives. 

In this section are some resources for online and in-person trainings relevant to rural and tribal transit. Organizations who frequently host conferences are also included. While they may not all be free opportunities, there are some possibilities for securing a scholarship or other funding to defray costs.
