2 The Point Training
Welcome to 2 the Point Training for rural and public transportation drivers! These training cards have been designed to be quick refresher trainings for drivers that can be reviewed in the break room, while parked and waiting for a passenger to finish an appointment, or at the beginning of the day before starting a route. Each card has training information on the front and a quiz on the back. There is space at the bottom of the quiz for both the driver's and his/her supervisor's signature.
This program is meant to be an interim refresher course only and more detailed trainings should take place periodically.

How to download and print the training cards:
The left-hand toolbar lists each training topic area (to view the subtopics for each section, scroll down). Clicking on a link will open the PDF of that section's cards. Each page contains 1-2 training cards, and we recommend printing the double-sided so the quizzes appear on the back of the content cards. You can print the document on plain printer paper or card stock paper, cut each page in half along the dotted line, and distribute to drivers. You can also print the document on Avery product #8317, which is cardstock with a perforated line down the middle so you can easily separate the two cards (when printing, select "tall" as the orientation). You can also laminate the cards for durability or hole punch the corner and use a binder ring to keep all of the cards in one section together.
To ensure the formatting of the cards is correct, please download the files to your computer before printing. If you plan to have multiple copies printed by a professional printer, we can provide a file that works better for that purpose.
Click here for all the 2 the Point Training cards in one file. A full set of Spanish cards is also available. If you are unable to download the cards, you can request a hard copy from National RTAP. National RTAP will provide one copy of each set of cards, printed double-sided on standard printer paper. To request the cards, please email info@nationalrtap.org.
The 2 the Point Training cards and quizzes are also available for free in English and Spanish on our National RTAP eLearning system.
We have also developed a 2 The Point Crossword Puzzle as a fun way to track track the training. Crossword Puzzle Answers are also available.
How to use this training:
These training cards are designed so that each card can stand alone or be completed in a series, allowing you move at a pace and style that suites your training needs. They can be completed sequentially within a topic area or you can pull out particular cards to refresh drivers on problem areas as they arise. You can also create a schedule for reviewing the cards, such as giving anew card to drivers on the same day each week (2 the Point Tuesday!). This refresher training program was created to be flexible so that the material can be used by each system to create a program that addresses its particular training needs.
You can also create new training cards specific to your system's policies by using this Microsoft Office Publisher template.
How to track this training:
This answer key contains the answers to all of the 2 the Point quizzes. A tracking spreadsheet is also available for you to use to keep a record of which cards a trainee has completed. The spreadsheet has the title of each training card and you can enter your drivers’ names and the date they completed a training card (or the score they received on the quiz).
If you would like to recognize your drivers for completing particular, or all, sections of 2 the Point Training, you can use these certificates of completion. When printing these certificates, please select 'landscape' as the orientation.
If you have your drivers take the 2 the Point Training and quizzes on our National RTAP eLearning system, the tracking is automatic and the certificates of completion can be downloaded that way.
